School of Medical Sciences and Research popularly known as Sharda Medical College is accredited by the Medical Council of India and was established in 2009.The college is located in Noida and is affiliated to Sharda University. This college provides MBBS, MD to its students on a wide range of subjects. Students also have the scope of a doctoral degree after completing their Master’s degree. Along with an excellent faculty and advanced research, this college also has a 500 bedded hospital attached to it.

Fully equipped hospital

The hospital is equipped with advanced and sophisticated equipment, and modern facilities, to provide comprehensive treatment to patients. It abides by the concept known as Golden Hour while managing critically ill and injured patients and has a 24/7 Emergency and Trauma Care Center, a 50 bedded ICU, NICU, PICU, and five operation theatres. In addition to it, the hospital also provides round the clock ambulance service equipped with life support facilities. Curriculum of these courses gives scope for didactic teaching, which is based by experimental learning. The medical school was conferred Excellence in Medical Education by Indian Medical Association in 2013.

Requirement for these courses

Students who have passed senior secondary examination, or its equivalent from a recognized board are allowed to enroll to MBBS and BDS courses. You need to have minimum 50 % marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English in higher secondary examination to seek admission in the undergraduate medical courses. Minimum age limit of students to enroll to these courses is 17 years. For Master’s degree, students have to complete the undergraduate course from any of the recognized universities.

Cost of these courses

Duration of the undergraduate courses is five and half years and the fee are approximately Rs. 6,60,000 per year. The college also has seats for international students. The college has a fully equipped library that has a wide collection of books, reference materials, technical journals, audio- visual aids online databases that suffice the needs of students. Classrooms are designed to accommodate debates, lectures, presentations, and group discussions. To enrich the learning experience of students, multimedia are also used in the classrooms.

Additional facilities awarded

There are separate accommodations for girls and boys in the campus of the university. A hostel is dedicated solely to accommodate international students. The cafeterias are strategically located for the convenience of students. Good transportation facility is provided by the university to students so that they can travel to neighboring places and in and around Delhi.
